Located on the lower level of Hildebrand Hall, this 5,000 sf laser research laboratory is the focal point for the Department of Chemistry's new Physical Bioscience Division. The division applies femtosecond spectroscopy to various chemical and biological phenomena.

The design places a series of self-supported laser labs around a central core of common office, seminar, and support spaces. This arrangement allows different research experiments to be run at the same time, and fosters a high degree of interaction between the researchers.
